| Description:This is our best selling shield back chair. It captures the heart of most people as soon as they see it. It has a swag carving on the back and Federal spade foot legs. This style chair was super popular in the 40's and 50's during the Hepplewhite and colonial revival period. This chair is rock solid and they are solid mahogany. Believe it or not, they are hand carved. These chairs are new, but they have a glazed finish which gives them old world charm. The seats are fully upholstered with a thin white on white damask which can be covered with new fabric as shown in the last two pictures. A local upholstery shop can cover these chairs for little money because the cushions have webbing and padding. Designers love these chairs for clients. They will certainly work with Duncan phyfe tables from the 50's. They are brown with black glazing. Shipping these chairs are pretty simple. We marry two side chairs to a box and ship them via UPS freight or a private blanket wrapper. If you buy two chairs they will ship for $100 each, and when ordering a set of 8 they will ship for about $75 each. Addresses near I-95 may geta slightly better deal. Either way, these chairs are a great deal. |
