Description: Hepplewhite dining chair. This style chair is also known as a sweetheart shield back. We offer this style chair from two regions, the Philippines and Vietnam. Both offer different selling points. The Philippine chairs are comparable to high- end name brand furniture. They are heavy, extremely durable and the mahogany is dense. They are rich dining chairs. I believe Philippine mahogany is as good as older Honduran mahogany. Philippine mahogany is expensive but it is the best fit material for the most demanding furniture collectors.
Our Vietnam Hepplewhite chair, on the other hand, is a cost effective solution to expensive traditional mahogany chairs. It is a rubber wood frame and finished with a brown mahogany color. Rubber wood is the best substitute for mahogany because it is dense and has a similar grain to mahogany. The average homeowner will not see the difference. It is also very heavy wood. These chairs have a hi-end lacquer finish which will not chip like most Chinese finishes. Our Vietnam chair offers an easier price point with exceptional quality. They are better suited for limited budgets where price and quality must be balanced. The Vietnam chairs come unassembled in a box and ship for 1/3 the price of an assembled chair.
